Increases the use of the Cloud in Costa Rican companies
The use of cloud computing has increased considerably in recent years, as announced by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, Technology and Telecommunications (MICITT) during the presentation of the XI Report on National Indicators of Science, Technology, Innovation, Costa Rich 2020 -2021.
According to the report, the use of the cloud at the enterprise level went from 57% between 2015-2016 to 62% from 2020 to 2021.As with the cloud, the percentage of companies that use fiber optic links to connect to the Internet went from 13% in the 2015-2016 period to 41% between 2020 and 2021.
“Regarding cloud computing, we see a change in companies that use it and those that do not use it (…) there is an increase in those that are using this technology as an additional element of innovation,” said Orlando Vega, Vice Minister of Science and Technology.
